Started in 2012 by April Gertler and Adrian Schiesser, Sonntag is a "social sculpture" that takes place the third Sunday
afternoon of every month. For each Sonntag an artist is invited to show their work in a private apartment. The artist's
favorite cake is made by April and Adrian and is served with coffee and tea over the course of the event. This month’s
Sonntag event, held in a spacious Kreuzberg apartment, featured the work of Austrian artist Uli Aigner. Uli exhibited
over 260 hand thrown porcelain vessels from her series Eine Million. The event, lasting for four hours during the after-
noon, was a social hubbub, involving plenty of cake (a delicious Mocha Cream), coffee and conversation. The crowd
was an eclectic mixture of artists, students, children and one (occasionally barking) dog. “Sonntag” proved to be the
perfect way to spend a peaceful and cultural Sunday afternoon.
