The ceramics exhibition at the Mies van der Rohe Haus Berlin, curated by Rainald Franz and Albert Kirchengast , will stop at the Villa Beer on June 16 and 17, 2023. Here and there, ceramic objects are shown that enter into a dialogue with the respective room.

Objects by the following artists are on display at Villa Beer: Uli Aigner, Thomas Bohle, Matthew Kaiser, Kurt Spurey. Works by students and teachers in the Ceramics Studio of the University of Applied Arts Vienna under the direction of Sen. Art. Mag.a art. Sascha Alexandra Zaitseva. And photographs by Michael Wesely.

For the exhibition, Uli Aigner created Sturzbecher. A Sturzbecher is a cup or goblet that, due to its shape, cannot be placed without a foot, but rather fallen , ie resting on the rim of the drink. It consists of the hollow goblet part and a stem-like handle part that is pointed or rounded at the bottom, whereby the tumbler can only be placed down the other way when it is empty. When full, it must be held in the hand or on a special frame.space2-3.jpg
